Getting Active Again After a Gulf Summer

If you live in the Gulf, from Saudi Arabia and the UAE to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, summer can completely change your daily routine. With temperatures reaching very high levels, outdoor walks, sports and even short trips outside often take a back seat. As the weather becomes more comfortable, it’s a great time to start moving again.

Ease Back into Your Routine

After months of spending more time indoors with the air conditioning on, jumping straight into intense workouts isn’t necessary. Getting active after summer can start with a short evening walk, a light gym session or a few minutes of stretching at home.

Give your body time to get used to regular movement again, then gradually increase the duration and intensity.

Make the Most of Cooler Gulf Weather

As temperatures become more manageable across the Gulf, there are more opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. Try an evening walk along the waterfront, a morning run, a game of football or a padel match with friends.

Even during the cooler months, it’s important to consider the weather when planning exercise in the Gulf. Stay hydrated, choose comfortable times of day and take breaks whenever you need them.

Make Movement More Fun

After spending much of the summer indoors, getting active doesn’t have to mean going straight back to the gym. Try something different: join a padel game, explore a new walking route, go cycling or simply spend more time outdoors with family and friends.

When getting active after summer involves something you genuinely enjoy, it becomes much easier to turn it into a regular habit.

Don’t Forget to Take It Easy

Your fitness level may not be exactly where it was before summer, and that’s completely fine. Start at a comfortable pace, warm up properly and give your body enough time to recover between workouts.

There’s no need to make up for months of reduced activity overnight. Consistency matters more than intensity.

Ready to Get Moving?

The end of the hot Gulf summer means more opportunities to get outside, try something new and make movement part of your routine again.

Getting active after summer doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with simply stepping outside and enjoying the weather.
